HELP US SAVE DJAKI KUNDU

Ancient and Sacred Seven Sisters Dreaming Site
"THE GYMPIE PYRAMID"

Working in the spirit of Wirritjin (Black Fellas & White Fellas working together),
we acknowledge the Original People of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
We pay our respect to their elders past, present and emerging and extend that respect to all First Nations Peoples today.

Since the early 70's; Kabi Elders and Kabi Guardians of Djaki Kundu, also known as the "Gympie Pyramid" - located on the outskirts of Gympie in Kabi Bunya Djha (Bunya Country), have been fighting to save the ancient sacred site from destruction by the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (QDTMR) .... but the fight continues.
.

On the 25th of January 2021, Minister Mark Bailey (QLD MP); plans to go ahead with construction.
He is well aware Kabi Elders and Kabi Guardians have the right to protect the site from harm or destruction.

He is instead, planning to continue with his destructive activities.
Meaning, Djaki Kundu could be destroyed forever to make way for bridges and roads in its place. Djaki Kundu is an Ancient Kabi site and is Anciently known as a "Seven Sisters Dreaming site" - A sacred healing and Ceremonial site. A Sacred land for the coming together of all first nation and original tribes of Bunya Country.

The minister has recently sought a 'mediation', to discuss access for Kabi Elders and Kabi Guardians.
He claims he will avoid a "small area", only subject to his "intended scheduling" - which could lead to destruction to the rest of the Landscape site.

This is Blatantly unlawful and unacceptable!
As Destruction of 'Aboriginal cultural heritage' is unlawful in Queensland & Australian Jurisdictions, as are acts of genocide.
(Genocide is the intentional action to destroy a people—usually defined as an ethnic, national, racial, or religious group—in whole or in part.)

.
Kabi Guardians intend to preserve Kabi religious, spiritual beliefs, the history and identity of the Sovereign Kabi Tribes of Kabi Bunya Djha, at Djaki Kundu.

Kabi Elders appreciate your support.

OK so now, what to do?...

Can you imagine - having an innate sense of responsibility, but with no avenue to turn, a voice unheard, in a room so loud that you feel lost and ignored?
.
Enough
.
In this moment, realise your humanity, and the opportunity here to support.
.
Why not make a call to Mark Baileys Office and forward a complaint?

- "I, ..., In good faith, am of concern MP Mark Bailey and his ministerial office have ignored further concerns stated from the Kabi Elders and Kabi Guardians; primary Guardians of the Traditional "Aboriginal Area" and "Indigenous Sacred Site"; DJAKI KUNDU, in relation to it's hazard of complete destruction (As per proposal of Bruce Hwy Upgrade Cooroy to Curra Sec.D Woondum To Curra).

Therefore it is my belief that any Loss and/or Damages of Traditional Sacred Land as per Recognition under the "Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2003" and the "Aboriginal and torres straight island protection act. 1984" are through negligence of the Minister MARK BAILEY & MP's Office and will be held Liable and Accountable for Loss and/or Damages as per sections of the "Negligence and Limitations of Liability Act 2008" as well as breaching laws adhering to the "Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2003" and the "Aboriginal and torres straight island protection act. 1984."

It is my belief - this also, is not upholding commonwealth law. I, ..., in good faith acknowledge the importance of this ancient cultural heritage and sacred site, DJAKI KUNDU.

I am appalled in this decision and call MP Mark Bailey to Immediately Cease The Current and any future proposals that would detriment DJAKI KUNDU & Sacred Land.

.

Thankyou."
